Based in Transylvania, Romania, Cristian Demeter Violins has over 20 years of experience in the musical instrument making field.
Our Story
Each of Demeter Cristian’s instruments is graduated and finished by hand to reach the best tonal result using only selected high quality wood from Transilvania, Romania. The varnish is done by hand and individually antiqued. His instruments are made after Cremona templates – all measurements, dimensions and acoustic points are made after the resonance and density of the wood.
Cristian Demeter has been making hand crafted string instruments for about 10 years, learning from his teacher and father, Peter Demeter.

Hand Crafted Instruments
The wood traditionally used to make our Violins and cellos is maple for the back, ribs, and scroll; the top is made of spruce. Our instruments are made with “seasoned” wood that has had time to naturally dry for many years. I like to use wood that has been seasoned for a minimum of fifteen years.
